Description
A day on the traces of the Enduro pros! If you've always wanted to get a taste of what kind of trails are ridden at an enduro race, you can look forward to this day tour in the autumnal Lötschental. Under expert guidance we will take the 4 stages of the Swiss Enduro Series of October 2021 under the magnifying glass and wheels.
For each stage we will get support from the cable car during the ascent, which will release us at Lauchernalp into the Lötschental mountains. After another ascent including a short hike-a-bike passage, we set off on the descent on Stage 1, with twisty switchbacks alternating with medium-high steps until, after the last flowy meters, we are spat out again in the village.
Stage 2 starts again at Lauchernalp - the well-known "Breithorntrail" is fast and flowy, even if there is a short climb in the middle section. Those who want to feel how this is to be ridden at race pace are welcome to try this and get their pulse racing here.
Stage 3 is the most technical of the descents: After a fast-paced prelude, technical passage follows technical passage. The winner time for the men in 2021 was just over 6 minutes here - we will need many times that to ride some sections several times for practice purposes.
Stage 4 is playful, but still not to be underestimated. After the first trail section with rocks, roots and blocked switchbacks the key section appears - an increasingly steep root carpet, which leads almost vertically onto a forest road. The brave ones ahead! The second section over roots and meadows can be raced again, and at the end we will certainly high-five each other as in the race - the stages are hard but rewarding work!
On all descents we will focus on the technical sections and the necessary riding skills. We will take the time to try technical sections more often. For this reason, you can also come along if you don't yet feel so confident on black trails.
The lunch break will be taken in one of the huts on Lauchernalp.
