Description
Which high-alpine dream trail is on your bucket list, but you have not yet dared to try it? We will lay the foundation that it works out! So invest at the beginning of the season and enjoy the rest!
This course is aimed at good bikers who can master trails of S2 level. We focus on learning 2 core skills for riding high alpine trails:
front pivoting in tight switchbacks
skills and line choice for tough rockgardens, steep terrain and high steps
On the first day we teach you the basics at the Swiss Bike Park, Oberried, and practice on it’s specially designed tracks. The risk there is much lower as compared to real terrain, because in the mountains especially trails with tight switch backs are often very exposed. In the Bike Park, however, the corresponding practice trails are designed in such a way that you are allowed to make mistakes without serious consequences.
Trail Therapy guide Mischa knows the possibilities of the park very well because he supported the park in the creation of the use concept for riding skill courses. For warm-up and between practice sessions, he will also show you the other zones of the park and their possibilities so that you can come back and practice there on your own.
After the course we will make a transfer to Visp in Valais, either together with guide Mischa by train or individually. We can organize a common dinner in Visp.
On the second day we will practice the skills on selected trails around Visp. We use cable cars, trains, post buses or shuttles to be able to fully focus our energy on the riding skills. The region around Visp is ideal for this - it is sunny and the trails are mostly dry and dusty. Besides the skills you will get to know some hardly known trails.
